11th grade crew begins reading partnership with young students

Jinky and Michelle's 11th grade crew begins an exciting reading partnership that the whole class is involved in. These 25 students have been placed in 11 elementary classes. They will spend their crew time on Thursdays, reading to the younger students. Thanks to the following BNS teachers for agreeing to give this new idea a try: Jennifer, Jacqueline, Nora, Kori, Valerie, Marisol, Arbo, MaryAnn, Amy, Andrew, Rachel, Maria, Shakti, Elspeth, and Beth.

Updates and photos coming soon!!

9th grade biology students find lab volunteers in 3rd and 5th grade

9th grade biology students at BCS, lead by their teachers Raka and Amanda,  used 3rd and 5th grade students to complete their biology assignment.  They were working on the following questions:

Does age affect visual response time?
Does age affect visual memory?

They collected data by testing the students, some teenagers and some adults. Then they created graphs showing their results.  The tests involved catching a ruler and playing simple and complex memory games.
